(SPRINGFIELD, IL) — Celebrate America’s 250th birthday with Springfield’s premier summer destination! Knight’s Action Park will host its annual Fourth of July Celebration on Saturday, July 4, with its signature fireworks show beginning at 9:30 p.m.
“The Fourth of July is always special at Knight's Action Park,” said Owner Doug Knight. “When LincolnFest ended more than 40 years ago, our family wanted to provide a fireworks display for the Springfield community, since no one else was doing it at the time. And, we have been doing it ever since.”
The Park Pavilion, located behind Tradewinds Pub & Eatery, will host the celebration with live music featuring the classic sound of The 66 Ramblers from 6:30-9:30 p.m. Admission is FREE, and guests should enter through Tradewinds. Gates open at 5:30 p.m., with food available for purchase; the menu includes BBQ chicken, hamburgers, hot dogs, corn on the cob, baked beans, and potato salad. Tradewinds will also be open with a menu of delicious pub food for sale, including homemade fries and the best pork tenderloin in town — and according to some out-of-towners, in the entire state!
Knight’s Action Park attractions will also be open during this time. Splash Kingdom will be open until 8 p.m., while the Action Park will operate under normal hours with attractions open until 11 p.m. Movies at Route 66 Drive-in will begin immediately after the fireworks show. Go to www.knightsactionpark.com and www.route66-drivein.com for a full list of amenities and pricing information.
Don’t miss this amazing opportunity to celebrate a landmark anniversary for our country. Come early and please, for everyone’s safety, leave your personal fireworks at home.
